Ibera Spur-Thigh

This breed is often mistaken for the Hermann tortoise. As their markings are very similar the main difference is that they have a small horn shaped spur at the top of their back legs.

There are approx 8 sub-species of spur thigh tortoise. Most grow approx. 1inch per year and are fully grown at about 10 years of age.

This is a Greek sub-species.

This breed are categorised as a Mediterranean tortoise, so a tortoise table is best suited. A natural diet is best.

This Spur-thigh species does hibernate and requires an Article 10 (which we provide)
